Subject: SITREP
I considered a subject like "I lived, bitches," but 1) it's unprofessional, 2) that gets into some existential crisises that could be parsed with a therapist were there one willing to take someone in such a unique state as I, and 3) I don't know the state of all our allies. I can only hope that everyone emerged in one piece, or at least with all of their vital organs.
Shortly before the explosion of the Ascension Engine, I had been working closely with Nexus, who shared with me her disappointment that Demandred had taken such a route to his goals. She believed he may have been affected by his own devices-- as per files that should still be with Ender and the Raiders, constant use of the Engine erodes one's sanity. Still, we were able to jointly forestall the explosions, giving the assault teams what time we could, to escape.
I was saved by some quick thinking on Nexus' part, but I'm afraid that in saving me, she sacrificed herself. Right now, I'm in the presence of someone who called himself an ally when he recovered me, and I was initially skeptical of that claim. However, information from the Raiders' own archive matches this person's description, so I've come to trust him. He's given me fair access to his equipment, and I've found no ulterior motives. As much as I want to name this person, he's dramatic and kept whining when I mentioned that people might want to know who he is in this mail, so I'll let him keep his dramatic entrance.
My UC server email will remain active, so communication will remain open in case you have any questions for me. I'll keep working with this ally, and inform you when we're on the way so there are no surprises.
