Vouse nodded, and hugged Hope close, nuzzling the top of her head with his muzzle. "I'm starving. You think they'll deliver pizza?" He chuckled.
"I can cook something up, tho. As tired as I am, hunger is a strong force."

Hope's purr rose as she tilted her head into his nuzzle, her tail brushing up against his leg. "I doubt you'd get anyone to deliver tonight. We should see if we have anything still good enough to eat - it's been a while since this place has been stocked up."
She pressed herself briefly back into Vouse and then pulled away, turning to head back into the apartment. "How's Ko doing? I sent some texts earlier, but I haven't had a chance to follow up."

"She helped fight Vulcan. Our dad was determined to kick his ass, and we took him down." Vouse cracked his neck some, as he followed after Hope.
"That was a hell of a fight... But between mom, dad, Ko and myself, along with the Maverick's help, we overwhelmed the guy. Mom froze his limbs at one point, and it was all downhill for him since."

Hope chuckled. "Someone took footage of the end, after he and Havoc released their power - of Aidyn and Saku dragging them both out of the smoke. You did good work. I think the two of them got what they wanted, to - a chance to be seen as heroes."
Hope moved into the kitchen and began searching the cupboards for something edible. "I'm glad you're all okay. I think I'll visit with Ko when we get back to base..."

"Yeah? Good on them." Vouse nodded, smiling some, and followed Hope into the kitchen to help look around.
"They're really trying to turn a new leaf, but it's just so weird with Saku for me. I guess trying to be friends is hard for them, what with growing up in Hell and everything..."
He raised a brow at the mention of Ko, and chuckled. "You four really bonded after that book experience, huh?"

"A bit," Hope confessed. "It was a strange ordeal, but I'm glad we had the opportunity to work together. I want to maintain those kinds of relationships.
"And it is weird," Hope added with an exasperated huff, turning to look at Vouse. "Saku, I mean! I want to say I've moved past my issues with her, but she's like twenty years older than us and always seems to be hitting on you. And I know we're not exclusive, but after everything we've been through with her, it just feels... creepy."
Hope flicked her tail and sighed. "She's... trying. I know. Like you said, they just don't... understand how to make friends, I guess. But it's still weird."

"I think she's about 6 or 8 years, but yeah. I don't think she realized how old I was when she was flirting with me. My height kinda throws people off..." Vouse frowned, and pulled out some canned soup from one of the cabinets.
"But even then, it's going to take some time to get pass the fact that she bit my ass."

Hope groaned and closed the refrigerator, finding nothing of use in there. "I had forgotten about that. Thanks for reminding me."
She flicked her tail. "I suppose we'll need to have someone else bite your ass, if only so you don't always think of that when you see her."

"I like soup," Hope replied with a completely straight face, though her tail swayed in a motion Vouse would know indicated she was amused.

Vouse coughed some, and looked between the cans. "Alright, well, we got two cans, a pot, and a stove, so I'll heat this up."
He really didn't want his ass bit again, even if Hope did it.
"Did you want to head back to the base, or hang out here for the night?"

Hope smirked slightly and moved over to the stove to turn it on. "We can head out after. Enjoy some food, maybe scan the television to see if there's anything interesting on... then we can head back. I know the debriefing will be important, but... I really just want some down time right now."

"Yeah, I hear ya. My head was pounding, but I stole some aspirin from your stash and I think it's starting to kick in."
He smiled, and rubbed her back, before starting on heating up the soup.
"Amazing everything worked out... I'm going to feel surreal for a while."

A little purr rose in Hope's throat at being rubbed. "It will be. To go from almost a year of living in hiding to living normally... well, I supposed it's only a few weeks for you... indeed. Surreal is a good way to put it."
