Eden frowned in response to GUN, then she fiercely replied, “I will not let them touch you.” She surprised herself with how strongly she felt, and took a second to redirect her emotions. “I have no doubt you will be able to keep yourself safe, but if you ever feel someone is after you, please let me- us know. We don’t forget our allies, even the unlikely ones, and we don’t forget our friends. Damien speaks the truth about the Raiders, they prefer to see the possibilities, and often support those who leave to opposing side.” She considered a moment, “actually… telling your story to them may help bring the people responsible for hurting you to justice...” Then she held up her hands, similar to Damien, “but that is something to consider later. And only if you ever feel you want to.”

Damien was surprised by Eden's declaration. Sure, they felt that way, but to actually declare it openly was another thing entirely. "So, I don't know how the relationship between the Raiders and GUN is right now, but..."
Damien paused, sighing softly. "I don't know how much you know about me, or the Dolls, or TRIumph, but it's safe to say that TRIumph was a global menace and their remnants have been claimed by the Raiders, with knowledge and cooperation and whatnot. We probably deserved to be sent to the Triskelion for a time, but the Raiders were able to keep us relegated to probation and strict house arrest. You don't have any parents in the Old Guard, but neither do most of the Dolls. I guess revealing yourselves to our command is actually on the table, if only to keep you away from GUN. PMC experiment to PMC experiment, I really do want to help you, when you're comfortable enough for it."

Abyss side-eyed Eden for a long moment, then shifted her gaze to Damien. "...I've heard of TRIumph," she said after a moment. "TRIumph and Argus ran in... similar circles. I knew the Raiders brought them down, but I wasn't aware of the fallout..."
She looked away, folding her arms as she seemed to fluff and relax. "I'll... take your words under advisement. You don't need to make any pronouncements... I just... wanted to come by and say thank you. And goodbye."

Eden nodded, reining herself in further as she realised she had made Abyss uncomfortable. “Sorry… I am…” She considered her words, shifting her stance uneasily. “You had your future stolen from you, and now that you have a chance to choose any number of paths you wish… I just don’t want that chance to be taken from you again.” She smiled a bit, feeling a bit embarrassed, “I appreciate you stopping by to let us know you’re okay before leaving.”

Damien debated over saying much more. Abyss was clearly ready to leave, and he could recognize the courage it took to come out in public, even if it was the back of a record shop. Should he give her his number, or something? Did she even have a phone? Was she really going to be alright on her own? Granted, it's not like the Mavericks lived in luxury, but at least they had a roof over their head and presumably a couple meals a day.
His worry was written on his face as his mouth parted, but no words immediately formed. A couple seconds such, and he sighed softly.
"You know how to find us; you did it once, you can do it again. Please, take care of yourself, and come to us if you need anything, and I mean anything. You don't deserve to be alone after what you went through. Eden made sure I wasn't, and just having someone in my corner like that made a world of difference," he said while briefly patting Eden's shoulder. "I won't hold you here, though... so take care, and I hope to see you again soon."

Abyss nodded, the shadows around her deepening and twisting together, a portal opening within her own shadow.
"...I appreciate the sentiments," she said quietly. "It's... good... to know there are those outside of Argus willing to... talk to me."
She didn't elaborate more than that, or give the two young Raiders a chance to question or empathize further - she simply leaned back, and her body seemed to dissolve into darkness, the lights of the store once more creeping into the corner they were standing in.

Eden sighed and rubbed her face, "...that was embarassing. I did not want to come across like that." Seriously, what was she thinking? So emotional.

Damien bit his bottom lip, trying not to laugh as he shook Eden playfully by the shoulders. "Holy crap, do you suddenly have some kind of not-crush on Abyss? Or are you just looking for more dark-aligned friends? That was the most out of character I've ever seen you, I think."
He released her before rubbing his own face and sighing. "At least she felt safe enough with us to show up, and not like... shove us out of the door when I almost got too close. We should probably at least tell Aidan that she's alright and gone into hiding, but I don't know if that means he's going to have to report that to Commander Elyas, which means the commander will have to put an APB out on Abyss."

Eden rubbed her eyes as Damien shook her, replying softly, 'ugh, I know, I know...' She sighed as the conversation changed direction and she crossed her arms. "Let's not tell him just yet. I trust Aidan of course, absolutely. But let us at least wait until after the festival. It will give her time to get further away, and there will be fewer ears about."
She turned back to the instruments that surounded them, reaching out to pick up a ukulele and inspecting it, as if she'd intended to do that the whole time. "Please don't tell anyone I was so... forward isn't quite the right word, but... you get my meaning."

"Yeah, good idea, I'll keep this under wraps for now. You'll see Aidan before I do, and you'll see him more anyway, so you can tell him any time when he's calm."
He nodded to the idea of letting Eden take over that, before his smile returned. "Hey, don't worry about it. I'm... curious, but I know how you are with that kind of stuff. I won't tease you- publicly, anyway. Are you going to be alright though? Did something happen that shook your worldview? Something more than... y'know, being on the front lines of a war, I guess."

Eden smiled and nodded, “I’ll be okay. Knowing she is safe helps. When I broke the hold the shadows had on her, I sort of… glimpsed the future. Mmm, more like felt it. For myself. Freeing her helped free me, if that makes sense.”
